Why we started
Much of the landscape lighting sold in Canada comes from companies in Arizona, California and Florida, through warehouses south of the border. That puts a border, a currency and a long supply chain between the brand and the person installing it.
Luna Nova is Canadian-owned and based in Ontario. We bring our fixtures straight to Canada, keep them in stock here and price them in Canadian dollars. When a contractor gets in touch about a job, they reach people who work in the same climate they do.
Why brass
Brass doesn't rust. Left outside, it darkens slowly to a deep bronze and settles into a garden the way old door hardware settles into a house. That's why we cast our up, path, well and wall lights in brass.
Where a fixture sits flush in paving and takes foot traffic, we use 304 stainless steel instead, sealed to IP65 or IP67. The transformers that run it all live in 304 stainless enclosures too.
Built for here
Our fixtures are rated to work from −45 °C to 45 °C. They carry the cETLus mark for sale and installation in Canada. Spec sheets come in English and French. And the path lights, well lights, Northstar 2105 and Milky Way 2303 take standard MR16 or G4 lamps, so a lamp change years from now is a quick swap, not a new fixture.
How we sell
Luna Nova is supplied to the trade: contractors, and the distributors and dealers who carry our line. Homeowners get Luna Nova through the contractors who design and install it, because a lighting system is only as good as its install.
What we publish
Every product page lists voltage, working temperature, IP rating, certification and lamp type. We publish test data where we have it and say so where we don't. If we haven't measured it, we don't claim it.
