Why die-cast brass for landscape lighting
Brass is the right material for outdoor fixtures that need to survive year seventeen, not just year one. It naturally patinas and develops character without corroding through. We pair it with marine-grade hardware, double silicone O-rings, beryllium copper sockets, and convex tempered lenses. None of those choices show up in a daytime photograph - but together they determine whether the system still works the day the property sells.
The alternative most landscape brands ship is aluminum housing with a powder-coated finish. Aluminum is cheaper to extrude, lighter to ship, and brittle in the freeze-thaw cycle. The powder-coat chips on year three; the housing oxidizes from the chip outward; year seven the lens seal has failed and water is in the socket. Brass costs more to cast but the failure mode is decades slower.
